About the job

Our clients are large, complex international banks and asset managers, who operate in a fast paced, international environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide tax advice and support on a range of transactions and financial products
  • Review clients’ existing practices with a view to developing industry-leading tax control framework
  • Assist clients to develop and maintain processes, procedures and supporting documentation to support and manage tax risk across Asia-Pacific
  • Work with EY member firms to understand changes to tax legislation, regulations and practice across Asia-Pacific, and consider and communicate the impact to our clients
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure the timely delivery of sophisticated deliverables to clients
  • Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business
  • Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations.
  • Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to complex situations

To qualify for the role you must have

  • An undergraduate degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, taxation, economics, finance or law (an advanced degree in economics, law, tax or accounting is desirable)
  • 2 years above Hong Kong Tax compliance or relevant tax advisory experience gained from sizable public accounting firm or financial industry
  • Experience in the banking industry/asset management is desirable, but not essential
  • Experience across multiple jurisdictions would be an advantage
  • Strong tax technical skills (Hong Kong tax technical preferred but not required)
  • Strong negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challenges
  • Team player with strong communication skills

Ideally, you’ll also have

Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
