The Operational Risk Scenario Analysis SVP will be a senior officer within the Operational Risk Scenario Analysis Program. A successful candidate will partner across the organization, within Risk and across the First Line. The role requires agood understanding of the industry, a solid conceptual/practical grounding regarding Scenario Analysis and/or CCAR and QMMF, and - most importantly, excellent communication and collaborative skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and oversees the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.

  • Independently assesses risks and drives actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.

  • Works with colleagues in other areas of Risk Management, Finance, Compliance/Control and the Businesses to assure appropriate management of Operational Risk processes:

  • Facilitates accurate and appropriate reporting of operational risks to senior management and the Board of Directors.

  • Resolves transactional level escalations from internal partners.

  • Analyzesscorecards/metrics/scenariodetails in order to mitigate exposure(risk/financial/regulatory).

  • Monitors goals are met through performance, risk and relationship oversight.

  • Develops and maintains relationships across the business users and Lines of Defense to better understand and deliver customer requirements by responding to changes in the internal and external business environment.

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years relevant experience

  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills through all levels of the organization and with external partners and vendors. Exceptional relationship management skills; must be able to address and resolve conflict while maintaining relationships.

  • Experienced in Operational Risk

  • Demonstrates analytical ability; asks insightful questions, breaks analytical challenges into workable components and draws meaningful conclusions. Well versed in breaking down complex matters into core issues and root causes that can be more readily addressed.

  • Proficient in developing new ideas to mitigate risk and improve current processes.

  • Prioritizes high impact potential problems effectively.

  • Consistently reads different situations accurately and takes appropriate action to gain senior colleague/ client commitment.

  • Articulates clearly how risk technology supports unit's business, as well as the issues due to gaps between the current technology and known business requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree.
