Description
Responsibilities of the Operations Engineer includes the following:- Serve as a full time, primary on-call, responding and mobilizing efforts to address outages- Follow change management procedures and deploy code using configuration management (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc)- Set priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment- Measure and optimize system performance- Monitor telemetry and address alerts to ensure smooth operations- Demonstrate ability to deliver results on time with high quality
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of expertise in industry.
  • 3+ years of expertise with Linux (any distro, but especially RHEL). Standard UNIX utilities and programs
  • 3+ years of expertise with scripting languages such as Bash, Python
  • 3+ years of expertise with Puppet, Chef or Ansible
  • Understanding of SRE principles and goals along with prior on-call experience
  • Track record of practical problem solving, excellent communication, and documentation skills
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as icinga / nagios and log aggregation tools like Splunk
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in managing the applications on AWS/GCP & Kubernetes Working knowledge of Database
  • Experience around Security and Compliance
  • Experience working on supporting Java applications
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $208,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
