Your Apprenticeship
As an apprentice, you will be working within ourwithin ourAnimal Health

What will my job responsibilities look like?

To use specified laboratory equipment and prepare for and perform laboratory tasks using theappropriate scientifictechniques,proceduresandmethods
How to produce, analyze and interpret scientific information and data effectively

Preparation of solution
Cell line maintenance
Sample management
Ensure inventory is up todate
Updating of logbooks and filing of raw data
Ensure cleanliness levels in laboratory aremaintained

You will be studying towards the Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship. You will also be studying towards a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Applied Sciences which is an externally recognized qualification and awards UCAS points.
You will spend 4 days a week working as an employee within the Quality Control team and 1 day a week studying towards your qualification. Your studies will be conducted virtually (so you do not need to travel to the college/provider to study).
As you approach the end of your studies, you will then participate in what’s called the ‘End Point Assessment’. You will be required to travel to a facility to participate in in-person exams. We will provide assistance in providing travel and accommodation.

A passion for science
You will have completed your GCSE’s or equivalent studies
You will have also completed, or you will also need to have completed your further education or equivalent
Other Considerations
The role may require standing or sitting for long hours each workday
On-site presence throughout Monday to Friday
