Fluency and translation experience in Korean are crucial. The environment is fast paced, requiring the ability to handle workload with quick delivery schedules. In addition to project work, other responsibilities include contributing to improving our tools and workflows; evangelizing standard processes for localization friendly content; defining and driving improvements for our Korean customers. Strong communication and collaboration skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to manage priorities are crucial.
  • Translation of Apple products into Korean
  • Maintaining style guides and language glossaries
  • Ensuring terminology consistency across Apple products and services in Korean
  • Collaboratively assessing impact and implementing localization changes
  • Bugs monitoring, reporting and resolution
  • Working with cross-functional groups to ensure both quality and timeliness standards are met
  • Assisting with confidential translations and feedback
  • Contributing to tools and process enhancements
  • Degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation, Culture & Literature or equivalent
  • Native or accredited fluency in Korean with current and direct exposure to Korean culture
  • Fluent in English to perform English ↔ Korean translations and communicate with cross-functional stakeholders worldwide
  • Experience with CAT tools and software UI translation
  • Experience with multilingual and multicultural issues
  • Excellent writing skills and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with localization and internationalization, with a critical eye for excellent UX copy
  • Experience with Apple products and services
  • Excellent knowledge of the structural aspects of Korean and possibly other languages (syntax, semantics, phonology, phonetics)
  • Experience in natural language processing and computational linguistics
  • Experience with a programming language
  • Experience working with engineering
