As part of our GDS Consulting team, you will be part of Digital & Emerging team delivering to clients across regions.
Your key responsibilities
- Part of the Digital team, you will lead IoT initiatives across global businesses of Smart Manufacturing (IIoT) as well as Connected Products (CIoT)
- The IIoT track will include working with manufacturing & operations stakeholders to implement & drive Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- The CIoT track will include working with R&D and Marketing teams to conceptualize, design & implement IoT-based connected products.
- Ultimately, help the delivery teams on how to leverage IoT & Analytics to derive competitive advantage for the business and to create best in class solutions.
Skills and attributes for success
- Detail or working knowledge of various Siemens and Rockwell systems.
- Develop real-time control system software for automated assembly systems, including the programming of PLCs, SCADA, HMI, Servo Controllers, Robots and Vision Systems.
- Design and development of new control systems; testing, maintaining, and modifying existing systems.
- Develop human machine interfaces (HMI) using commercially available industrial products, custom GUIs written in Visual Basic or Visual C++.
- Work with mechanical and electrical designers to ensure the control system will meet performance, reliability, and functionality requirements.
- Design PLC programs specific to customer and project requirements based on standard programming methods.
- Must have experience in delivering and implementing IoT Solutions from concept to launch of connected products such as Connected Forklifts, Smart Appliances etc.
- Work closely with product engineering, product managers, marketing, and technology teams to develop a IoT SAAS/ PAAS Solution strategy & roadmap
- Identify new features/enhancements that can help customers, service teams & R&D teams to enhance the smart product value proposition.
- Own and maintain the entire IoT solution architecture starting at the individual device through connectivity, data collection and storage, cloud, middleware, and security.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- BE/BTech/MTech with a sound industry experience of 8 to 12 Years
- Minimum of two years of work experience in IoT client projects using a cloud platform.
- Excellent communication skills with consulting experience preferred
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience in domains like Manufacturing, P&U, Telecommunications, Supply Chain, Automotive

- Experience on Azure IoT Edge, DPS, Kepware, Rockwell, AWS IoTCore, Greengrass, Device management
