As a Data Scientist Senior within PNC's Retail Lending organization, you will be based at a HUB site within the PNC footprint, although it may not be available in all jurisdictions. Certain job responsibilities may require in-person, in office activities on a regular basis.Specific responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
• Lead efforts to increase team effectiveness in utilizing Python and Hadoop
• Use a variety of analytical techniques to extract usable information from various data sources, including customer, account, and transactional data sets.
• Participate in data set creation, analysis, model building, and model monitoring
• Represent the modeling team in various forums to inform senior executives and various team partners of progress on key modeling efforts
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Quantitative Psychology, Quantitative Political Science, MBA with a specialization in Analytics) with 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience executing complex queries and building large data sets using tools such as SAS, SQL, and Teradata.
• Strong communication skills that encompass writing, communicating, facilitating, and presenting cogently to and/or for all levels of audiences
• A demonstrated history of successfully managing several projects concurrently
• A demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and partnerships within and outside of the organization
• A strong track record of successful development of complicated statistical models
Job Description
  • Leads the implementation of analytical projects that leverage vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to extract actionable business insights.
  • Directs the data gathering, data processing and data mining of large and complex datasets.
  • Leads the development of algorithms using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques like machine learning to predict business outcomes and recommend optimal actions to management.
  • Leads analytical experiments in a methodical manner to find opportunities for product and process optimization. Presents business insights to management using visualization technologies and data storytelling.
  • Partners with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Visualization Experts to develop data-driven solutions for the business.
