Job Description


As Manufacturing Engineer within Factory Best, one of the largest Medical Manufacturing Sites in Health Systems, you will be the engineering representative ensuring best in class sustainable/circular solutions to guarantee and further enhance the operational lifecycle phase of a medical system.

In this role you will be responsible for

  • Support and execute new product introductions and life cycle management changes, encompassing (e.g.) process and software validation, qualification of equipment and statistical analysis,
  • Defining and leading improvement projects, to improve the quality management system, manufacturing processes, efficiency, product quality and test activities,
  • Minimizing disturbances (max. yield) within production in cooperation with team leads, troubleshooters and development,
  • Support in and/or ownership of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) projects.
  • Replace business critical equipment and processes to ensure business continuity.
  • Writing work instructions, monitor/maintain devices and tooling, instruct employees, implement and maintain production processes,
  • Participating as an expert in audits,
  • Analyzing performance data with respect to products and processes (six-sigma, statistical process control),
  • Providing structural solutions by initiating amendments like problem reports (PR) and/or 8D forms (problem solving methodology),
  • Leading escalations regarding production issues/complaints, if needed together with development and other stakeholders.


The Manufacturing Engineering team, a team which is responsible for processes within

  • Imaging Guide Therapy (IGT)
  • Magnetic Resonance imaging (MR)
  • Service, Parts & Repair (SP&R)
  • Imaging Components (IC)
  • Refurbishment System (RS)
  • Digital X-Ray (DXR)
  • Parts Recovery (PR)

In this role, you will be part of the manufacturing engineering team responsible for the circular processes within RS, SP&R and PR. You will be working closely with technicians, engineering colleagues (from other modalities), quality engineers, product managers, business developers and development.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following:

  • Bachelor or master’s in engineering-/technical-studies, or comparable,
  • 3+ years of experience with project management, quality management and quality systems in a high-tech industry applying ‘higher’ level quality system certification, e.g., automotive (IATF16949), medical (13485), aerospace (AS9100), etc., preferably experience in the medical industry (FDA requirements, audits, process validation, FMEA, etc.),
  • Hands-on mentality, proficient in documentation and natural inclination for accuracy,
  • Be independent, positive and pro-active, and not afraid to take ownership to drive change, including the management of relevant stakeholders’,
  • A result-driven, data-driven, and quality-driven approach,
  • Ability to quickly understand complex situations and new environments (helicopter view), enabling flexibility to work in various Factory Best building blocks or modalities simultaneously,
  • Comprehension skills and able to analyze and summarize,
  • Personal & communication skills in English (mandatory) and Dutch (preferred). Able to communicate with operators up to developers & management.

This role requires primarily full-time attendance at the office, given the responsibilities in many situations cannot be carried out from home. Where possible, the hybrid working model is applicable in consultation with your manager.
