Work under the direction of a Lead Telecoms Engineer to do the following;
- Carry out Site Surveys for Operational Rail Telecom (Ops Comms) and Station Information Security Systems (SISS)
- Produce Feasibility, Outline and Detailed Designs for the following;
- Cable Route design
- Copper & Optical Fibre Cabling including jumpering schedules, splicing diagrams and structured wiring systems.
- Lineside Telephony & Telephone Concentrators
- PDH/SDH Transmission Systems
- IP Data Networks
- GSM-R & WiFi
- CCTV Systems
- Public Address / Voice Alarm / Help Points
- Customer Information Systems
- Ticket Vending Systems
Here’s What You’ll Need
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the following:

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- At least 5 years’ experience producing Ops Comms or SISS designs for the UK Rail Industry and the GRIP/PACE standard.
- Competent to work unsupervised and to peer review the work of others
- Degree/HNC or relevant experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fully conversant with the use of MS Office suite and an understanding of the development of Spread sheets is essential.
- Fully conversant with the use of Bentley MicroStation software
Preferred
- IEng, or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- IRSE Telecoms Design License
- PTS Certification
