Job responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with Sql, AWS console, Control-M console and/or Linux - and basic but not full-time scripting/coding. Some combination of mainstream or new technologies.
  • Ability and motivation to learn in a fast paced environment using active listening and utilizing guided but self-driven learning and research.
  • Have a troubleshooting mindset and be comfortable with triage of issues and unknown situations - on a daily basis.
  • Be a good team player – sharing and documenting information with/for the team as issues are encountered and resolved, and comfortable performing repetitive checks for a subset of the day i.t.o monitoring environment health.
  • Knowledge on reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and other site reliability best practices with the ability to implement these practices within an application or platform.
  • The ideal team member will develop a good high level understanding of all the Applications supported, and develop into an expert on a subset of these.
