As a CAD Engineer focusing on the DV & Emulation methodology and support, you will work with RTL, architecture, design, DV, software and silicon verification users. Interfaces with various cross functional teams and external vendors to define, drive and incorporate the latest design solutions in the emulation domain to improve productivity and time to market. Develops and applies Computer Aided Design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in field of Hardware Emulation.

  • 5+ years of experience in CAD tool/flow development.

  • 4+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Python, etc.

  • 4+ years of experience with scripting and automation environments.

  • 2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).

  • 1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports. Principal

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As CAD Emulation Lead, you will own Hardware Emulation methodologies and workflow for CPU and SOC teams.

  • Gather requirements from users and/or vendors to adopt the most optimal solutions.

  • Modify and/or develop complex tools and workflows that improve productivity and efficiency of design team.

  • Provide timely and accurate responses to questions and issues from customers (e.g., design engineers).

  • Perform root cause analyses on complex customer problems to identify underlying issue and interact with external vendors.

  • Maximize the utilization of emulation and FPGA based prototyping infrastructure while maintaining stability and meeting resource sharing constraints.

  • Debug software issues and escalates only highly complex technical issues to technical leads or Principal Engineers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leverages advanced knowledge of computer architecture, micro-architecture, logic design, circuits, and/or physical design to develop and verify critical high performance and low power CPU designs.

• Anticipates, identifies, and solves highly complex problems to ensure design completeness, functionality, power, and performance.

• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define requirements, specifications, and trade-offs (e.g., performance, power, cost, functionalities, etc.) in order to accomplish product goals.

• Evaluates all aspects of the design process from conceptualization to productization (i.e., architecture definition, feasibility, pre-silicon design and verification, and post-silicon validation) that meet customer and industry standards.

• Writes detailed technical documentation (e.g., feature descriptions, architectural descriptions, verification test plans, and implementation details, etc.) for highly complex CPU designs; reviews documentation of junior engineers.

Level of Responsibility:

• Works independently with minimal supervision.

• Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.

• Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.

• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.

• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.

• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
