In the Instana Observability team, you will directly contribute to our Instana delivery platforms, automatic Kubernetes metrics collection, processing, and related dashboards for the Instana observability platform. Our engineering org is flat with a focus on autonomy. You’ll have the opportunity to build high-visibility features in our product in support of company strategy and objectives. You will use the latest software development tools, techniques and approaches and work with leading minds in the industry to build solutions you can be proud of.
Your Role and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and influence our software roadmap for the monitoring of Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters.
• Work with agile development team to develop and automate using Go, Operators, Java, and Javascript (UI).
• Provide production support to our SRE’s, field teams, and customers for the features we develop.
• Collaborate with developers, PM’s, QAs, and other Instana teams to improve our product and processes.
• Thrive in a global working environment with clear communication and collaboration.
• Our product updates are released fortnightly so delivery focus is important.
• Mentor junior developers as we grow the team.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 7+ years experience in Kubernetes, Operators and Dockers.
• 7+ years Linux experience. Power or Linux on Z knowledge is added advantage.
• 7+ years in automation (Terraform, Concourse, Jenkins)
• 7+ years experience with containerization, Open source datastores and operators.
• 7+ years experience in Development with Go, Java, Operators and Javascript (UI).
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, Concourse, Kanban .
• Good code writing discipline and an eye for code efficiency
• Strong analytical and problem-solving thinking
• Ability to work in cross-functional global teams
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Power or Linux on Z is added advantage.
