As a Production Team Leader, you will lead a manufacturing functional team that fully utilizes resources to meet the scheduled activities of the teardown, shipping and receiving teams. You will supervise the daily shift activities in their assigned functional areas and works with team members to cultivate a winning manufacturing attitude and creative and safe work environment. You will maintain accountability for the day to day teardown operations along with safety, compliance and lean development of all team members that you supervise.
Responsibilities:- Works with other managers and Manufacturing Engineers throughout manufacturing to generate continuous improvement ideas that lead to bottom line results.
- Develop and report results through use of the Daily Management system, tracking KPI's for the tube teardown and transportation operations.
- KPI's to include labor hour consumption, work order completion, inventory accuracy, throughput, capacity and customer complaints. Establish team goals that meet or exceed established quality standards.
- Develop and manage operational budget for their functional area.
- Implement business unit objectives and manufacturing department goals in each functional area.
- Monitoring and improving productivity, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner.
- Developing and creating training plans to maximize workforce capability.
- Leading Compliance, as well as Environmental, Health & Safety efforts in support of plant goals.
- Driving LEAN manufacturing implementation and ideas generation.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years production, supply chain experience or leadership, or High School diploma/GED and 7 years production or supply chain experience, or GE Leadership Program employee or graduate.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams.
- Demonstrate experience Mechanical amplitude to utilize Lean principles to reduce cost, safety concerns and increase efficiency for a disassembly operation.
- Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing Best Practices and deal with high levels of ambiguity.
- Strong communication skills, integrity and data driven reporting.
Desired Skills:- Understand powered industrial vehicle operation and impact to employee safety of the surrounding areas.
- Familiarity with a disassembly operation and supplier integration with customers.
- Familiarity of material flow, standard work for shipping and receiving.
- Navigating errors within the digital space.
- Experience managing represented staff, prioritizing safety.
- Creating BOL's , initiating domestic and international shipments.
- Troubleshooting FEDEX Errors and Issues.
- Experience with Lean and Continuous Improvement.
- Knowledge on crating, packaging, dollying systems and receiving assets.
- Moderate mechanical aptitude –complex problem solving of daily standard work.
