Key job responsibilities
- Key partner to work closely with the AR Product teams and WW Engineering to drive customer (AMZL) requirements for implementing AR system in EU Delivery Stations network.
- Identify process paths to automate based on various factors; labor, cost, safety, performance, etc. working with Process Engineering and Operations partners- Define pilot criteria and success metrics to validate proof of concept and performance targets set initially
- Lead AR and MHE automation pilots in EU by measuring success criteria for meeting metrics for productivity, quality and safety.- Support lessons learnt program for new robotics and automation system to understand improvements needed for next generation design iterations
- Part of core group for selection of critical sites in the network to receive automation based on set criteria
A day in the life
You will ideate and bring to life new technologies for AMZL. Your day could include activities ranging from working with new vendors on developing concepts for AMZL with automation and robotics technology, to being in the field and learning the challenges that associates face. You would build and validate prototypes in our Innovation Center to enable fast-design iterations. You will demonstrate through simulation and data the actual benefits of the new technologies integration in the field bringing your entrepreneurial and innovative spirit at disposal of the team. You would write a business case and work with stakeholders to build a case for piloting new technology. You could dive deep into understanding how the tech influences AMZL processes and the associate’s lives.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design, advanced assemblies, complex configuration management
- Hands on experience crafting proof-of-concept models and prototypes
- Thorough understanding and use of principals, theories and concepts in mechanical engineering and ability to apply them to product design
- Organizational skills and the ability to work well with teams
- Experience communicating concepts and writing technical documents
- Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment
- Experience with full lifecycle and proficiency at completing tasks to meet associated milestones
- Experience evaluating design, performance and logistical tradeoffs for hardware systems
