Purpose and Objectives

As part of a Scrum Team you will design, deliver, operate and support the creation of an innovative Event Broker for an event distribution capability. The solution is a cloud native, loosely coupled set of reusable data event services, providing greater resiliency, filtering based on payload, replay of past events and scalable performance.

Your responsibilities

· Responsible for implementation, testing and quality assurance of your code

· Contribution to test automation to enable continuous integration and delivery

· Strong ability to collaborate and be part of a team

· Be an active member of self-empowered Scrum teams producing software using Agile principles and engineering-driven decisions

· Have the flexibility to adapt to technologies and change directions quickly

· Write clean, tested efficient code that fits well with high standards and quality requirements that will be reviewed regularly by teammates

· Use Go, Java, Angular, Docker and Git to develop RESTful, clustered services in your everyday job

· Develop Kubernetes-native Kafka based solutions

· Interact with open-source communities for feature steering and bug fixes

· Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation with the team

Your qualifications

· Have the flexibility to adapt to technologies and change directions quickly

· Solid understanding and practice of Agile software development

· Willingness to take responsibility and ownership for your work and the team’s work without waiting for detailed instructions

· Must have a passion for delivering high-quality, fully tested and documented code

· Willingness to continuously learn new technologies and methodologies

· Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills, including humility and being open to giving and receiving feedback

· BA/BS degree in a computer related field

· Good verbal and written English

Preferred qualifications

· Co-op, internship, or equivalent professional experience in software development

· Experience with Kubernetes

· Experience developing and operating

• Kafka or other modern messaging technology
• Streaming applications
• Microservice architectures
• Services running in a cloud environment (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.)
