The Microbiologist I will perform complex microbiological testing on water, bulk pharmaceutical chemicals and drug products; collect samples; prepare standard and sample solutions; and maintain appropriate records.

• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
• Collects purified water samples from the various USP Purified Water Loops used to manufacture or test drug products
• Prepares media used in the microbiological testing of bulk pharmaceutical chemicals, drug products and components.
• Prepares samples for shipment to outside contract laboratory for microbiological testing.
• Performs microbiological testing on water, bulk pharmaceutical chemicals and drug products.
• Collects environmental samples for microbiological analysis.
• Validates microbiology test methods.
• Review data generated by other Microbiologists.
• Conduct microbial identifications.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field
• Minimum of one (1) – four (4) years of professional experience in a pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
