Application Integration and Streaming (AIS) product line in platform services enables integration across apps by providing capabilities to communicate either by moving data in the form of events, files, or streams or by APIs. As an Integration developer you will work as part of the Engineering team in Application Integration & Streaming product line to build new solutions for the firm to use as the internal private cloud event and message bus using Java or Kubernetes.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification onsoftware engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Java, Python
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods, and in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Experience with Spring Boot and messaging using Kafka or IBM MQ
  • Experience in building applications using REST APIs, SQL or NoSQL DBs
  • Hands on experience with building resilient, scalable micro-services on Kubernetes
  • Working knowledge of networking - VPCs, Transit Gateways, firewalls, load balancers, etc.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Able to solve complex problems using dynamically scalable infrastructure products-based solutions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to be able to work within and across team to drive integrations in hybrid-cloud environment
  • Experience with Amazon EventBridge or equivalent cloud services from any other public cloud
