The legal professional within the role will specialize in key areas of practice including:
Corporate Law
Commercial Law;
Labour and Employment Law;
IP/IT & Data Privacy Law
Entity Compliance & Governance Services;
Tax Controversy – Advice & Litigation; and
Indirect Tax Controversy – Advice & Litigation.
Your key responsibilities
Researching any/all applicable laws, regulations, and precedents in preparation for and attendance at any/all client meetings and/or other legal proceedings.
Drafting of legal advice on all areas of the law and any other corporate/business transactions, as may be required.
Assess legal rights and legal risk of various company structures, and submitting recommendations for any joint venture, limited partnership, external company and/or limited liability company options.
Drafting, reviewing, analyzing and amending any/all correspondence, legal agreements, briefs, rules, regulations, procedures, policies, legislation and other transaction documents, as required.
Providing support during negotiations/discussions held on behalf of and/or with the clients to create, amend, and execute all legal, corporate or business transactions.
Providing clear, reasoned risk analysis and business-focused solutions on contract risks and risk mitigation options enabling the client to achieve the legal and business objectives.
Providing all necessary support to EY Law’s Corporate Secretarial (CoSec) portfolio, inclusive of the management of the client portfolio as well as the members of the CoSec team, efficiently coordinating all client compliance matters, assisting with the preparation of any/all related forms/documents/notifications and ensuring any/all filing deadlines are met.
Consistent communicating with partners, senior associates, paralegals and clients to ensure matters are handled efficiently.
Where required, liaising and working closely and efficiently with other members of EY Global, both locally and internationally, to facilitate the provision of any advice and services to the client.
Providing such other assistance as may be required in connection with the implementation of any/all of the above.

What we look for
LLB or Bachelors
Masters, LEC or equivalent legal experience
12+ years ofcorporate and commerciallegal experience
Working experience of local and/or regional tax law (essential)
Experience in corporate and commercial transactions would be considered an asset
