What you’ll do:
As an Engineer in the Gardener Landscape Stability Team, you will function as both a DevOps Engineer and Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), playing a key role in maintaining and improving the stability and performance of our Kubernetes landscapes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, automate processes, and ensure the reliability of our systems.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features and updates.
- Monitoring system performance and implementing improvements to enhance stability and cost efficiency.
- Automating routine tasks to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention, as well as improving mechanisms for landscape setups.
- Serve as technical expert during incidents, investigate and resolve issues at a deep technical level.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues and participate in Support-rotations for critical systems.
- Learn new technologies and keep up to date with latest product releases
What you bring:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Understanding Kubernetes is a mus.
- Experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
- Proficiency in automation, scripting and programming languages like Python and Bash or Go
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or OpenStack.
- Knowledge of tools such as Concourse, Argo CD, GitHub & GitHub Actions, Grafana, Prometheus, Prow is a plus.
- Networking experience, Linux and security hardening procedures is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for automation and software development in general
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in German is a bonus.
- A passion for learning and a desire to keep up with the latest industry trends.
