Position: Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer (Early Career)

Key Responsibilities
  • Designrobust opto-mechanical and mechanical components, modules, and subsystems that drive the next generation of wafer inspection tools.
  • Generate, review, and release comprehensive engineering drawings and documentation to ensure a seamless transition from design to production.
  • Deliver working solutions by collaborating closely with optics, systems, manufacturing, and service engineers to ensure smooth integration and testing at both subsystem and system levels.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with minimum 3 years industrial experience.
    • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred; industrial experience (2+ years) is a plus but not required for master’s degree holders.
  • Technical Skills:

  • Required:

    • Solid foundation in mechanical design principles.
    • Ability to perform first-order thermal and stress calculations to support design decisions—no guesswork here!
    • Understanding of optical engineering fundamentals and their impact on opto-mechanical design (reflection, refraction, polarization, etc.).
  • Preferred:

    • Good understanding of fabrication processes such as milling, lathing, and sheet metal work .
    • Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools for flow, thermal, and structural simulations.
    • Experience in one or more of the following: optics mounting, alignment, precision mechanical design .
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
