As a Business Intelligence Engineer within the AWS Data Center Construction team, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the financial aspects of data center construction projects. Leveraging data-driven insights, you will support decision-making processes and strategic planning efforts to ensure cost-effective and efficient project delivery. Your work will directly influence the decisions and strategies of the AWS Infrastructure Services organization and our customers, contributing to the success of data center construction initiatives.Key job responsibilities
- System Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated user friendly systems, reports, and dashboards to support the financial needs of data center construction projects.
- Data Analysis and Insights: Apply advanced analytic techniques to extract meaningful insights from large and complex datasets related to construction costs, procurement, and project performance.
- ETL Pipeline Development: Utilize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to build robust data pipelines supporting automated reporting and analysis of construction cost data.- Data Visualization: Develop compelling data visualizations to illustrate construction cost trends, patterns, and outliers, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions.
- Best Practices Adherence: Recognize and adopt best practices in construction cost management, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- 3+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data using tools such as Redshift, Oracle, or NoSQL databases, with a focus on construction cost data.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Quicksight, or similar platforms, for communicating construction cost insights effectively.
- Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines specific to construction cost management.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation, as well as scripting experience (e.g., Python) for data processing.
- Familiarity with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift, and their application in managing construction cost data.
- Experience in data mining, ETL processes, and database management in a construction environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
