Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

As a Manager - Buying & Trading, you will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial performance of our product categories. You will ensure that our product offerings align with market trends and meet customer demands.

This role is responsible for maximizing the sales, profitability, and brand equity of eCommerce and own retail concept store through the management and execution of:

  • In-season trading to ensure category and product performance meets expectations. This includes responsibilities such as Inventory Turns & Terminal Inventory Management.
  • Buying according to a financial plan with the accountability of planning to category & business segment level. This includes being responsible for KPI’s such as Net Sales, Standard Margin, Sell-through and Markdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic buying and trading plans to achieve sales and profit targets.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and adjust strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Manage and monitor sales plans vs actuals to provide insights on article level performance and take business decisions.
  • Identify and analyze market trends and consumer preferences to build product range.
  • Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and minimize markdowns.
  • Oversee and implement markdown strategies.
  • Collaborate with different teams to ensure the effective presentation of products in-store and online.
  • Track and analyze data on sales, inventory, campaigns, seasonal buy, commercial offers performance, additional opportunities etc.
  • Act to increase sell thru, Improve of Range /Range Profitability, and other key merchandising KPIs.
  • Forecast planning on business unit level, net sales, margin and ASP.
  • Develop merchandise plans within budget constraints, considering factors such as season, target customer, category share, and gender mix.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Structured, organized and process orientated.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Advanced user of MS Office suite of products – esp. Excel, PPT.
  • Knowledge of Retail Management Systems.
  • Good understanding of consumer perspective.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in merchandising or related functions.
  • Fluent in English- a Must.
