Your impact

We are currently looking for a HSE manager to be based on our Project Site. You will provide support, coordination and advice of safety practices, systems, and procedures within defined workplaces. You will see yourself working on a Mega project that’s never been developed before and part of a growing business.

Responsibilities not limited to;

  • Provide technical expertise and advice on safety, environmental, welfare and health matters to Snr Leadership team and Project Managers.
  • monitor compliance with the safety systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the Project Management Teams and Leadership Teams in your designated operations.
  • Coaching and mentoring of Project Safety personnel and Trainees (where relevant) and deliver HSE training as required.
  • Assist the project management team in the planning, development, and implementation of local project specific H&S management systems.
  • Provide advice and leadership to Jacobs Project management teams around the safety practices of subcontractors working on behalf of Jacob.
  • Assist the project management team in implementing Jacobs HSE management system.
  • Ensure all HSE incidents are reported and investigated as required based on level of classification, and entered the Jacobs Intelex reporting system Ensure regional audit corrective actions are closed out in a reasonable time frame i.e., Legal compliance, OHSAS 18001 certification, project, & system.
  • Keep abreast of Health and Safety Regulation changes across industry.
Here's what you'll need
  • Degree qualified in Engineering with a Chartered status is preferred.
  • Previous experience for about 15 years as a Site based Health and Safety manager.
  • Certified with NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) in Occupational Health & Safety and a Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in the Middle East especially Saudi Arabia is highly advantageous.
  • Technical expertise in Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and development and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
  • Knowledge of leading auditing, safety inspections and compliance reporting procedures and processes.
  • Knowledge of construction activities to support field teams, project risk management procedures and compliance processes.
  • Knowledge of where to locate KSA HSE legislation and statutes and how to adequately research Project requirements.
  • Knowledge of document compliance procedures and processes and understanding of technology to support HSE systems.
  • Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and development and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
  • Data gathering and statistical and trend analysis, conducting and interpreting audits and reviews.
  • Monitoring, reviewing, reporting and continuous improvement on performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance.
  • Skill in identifying HSE improvements to systems, processes and/or products within a project.
  • Effective HSE coaching and leadership skills.
  • Initiate and strengthens collaborative relationships with clients and works co-operatively on projects.
