Job Description:

The test engineer will be responsible for:

  • Consulting with the team about quality aspects such as usability, testability, and robustness.

  • Communicate with software/hardware developers about the impact of design enhancements/changes and adjusting test designs accordingly.

  • Adapt existing tests and design new tests, execute them, and interpret the results ensuring code meets company criteria

  • Running, maintaining, and expanding the feature automation suites

  • Assess risks and advise whether the product is release ready.

  • Record test results and other relevant findings in our tracking system.

  • Maintain and improve application and software testing processes

  • Monitor system and software functionality

  • Ensure offerings are entirely functional and provide quality assurance for software/hardware products

  • Automated testing and problem-solving of various tasks that work towards a development process

  • Advise best practices and optimizations throughout testing and bug-fixing processes

  • Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions

  • Implement feedback and changes whenever possible

  • Work with the software development team to maintain consistency throughout the company’s product vision

  • Work closely with other software quality assurance and development engineering points of contact to minimize the time required to fix and verify problems that are reported through the tracking system.

Knowledge and Skills:

The following are required:

  • Strong knowledge of requirements based testing, test coverage analysis, and test reporting

  • Experience with automated testing, negative testing, manual testing, performance testing, integration testing, and regression testing

  • Experience and skills in test environment design, setup, and management

  • Experience in troubleshooting and defect analysis

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills working with software quality assurance and development teams

  • Experience in writing and reviewing test scripts and test cases

  • Experience in project management

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

The following are desired:

  • Knowledge of SAN switching products, FC SAN system architecture and standards

  • Knowledge of IP network routing and switching products, TCP/IP architecture and standards

  • Knowledge or exposure with IBM Z/Mainframe Systems and z/OS Operating System

  • Fluency in programming languages (Python, C, C++)

  • Familiarity with using Jira or similar requirements and defects tracking tools

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and 8+ years of related experience; at this level postgraduate coursework may be desirable or Masters degree and 6+ years of related experience or PhD and 3+ years of related experience

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is$107,000 -$171,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
