As an Advanced R&D Scientist here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for leveraging technical expertise to provide solutions for complex global challenges. You will lead the ideation and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, ensuring alignment with Honeywell's strategic objectives. You will be responsible for providing mentorship and guidance to ensure successful and efficient project delivery.You will report directly to our Research and Development Manager and you'll work out of our Buffalo, New York location on a hybrid work schedule.In this role, you will impact the development of innovative solutions and contribute to the generation of intellectual property through patent filings.


• Provide technical expertise in the design, development, and testing of innovative solutions• Mentor and guide a team of R&D engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence• Drive innovation by identifying new technologies and methodologies• Conduct research to generate intellectual property (IP) and contribute to patent applications• Evaluate emerging technologies for their applicability to current and future projects• Conduct technology assessments to inform strategic decision-making• Support the transfer of technology from R&D to manufacturing or production teams• Identify and assess technical and project-related risks• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies

The annual base salary range for this position is $108,000-$120,000. Please note that this
salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various
factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and
responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education
and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.


• 6+ years of experience leading research and development projects within a technology or manufacturing environment

• Strong background in areas such as materials science, electronics, sensors, controls, or related fields

• Proven track record of technical leadership and project management


• Bachelor's degree or Advanced degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, or another related field

• Solid understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated ability to drive technology commercialization is a plus

• Passion for innovation and continuous learning

• Attention to detail
