Roles and Responsibilities
Risk Assessment and Compliance:
- Conduct risk assessments for electrical systems and products and suggest changes or guide the teams as needed.
- Manage & issue the work permits for the work executed in the area of responsibilities and monitor the work being executed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Evaluate safety risks associated with electrical designs.
- Periodic inspection of the electrical systems & Installations inside the engineering lab areas.
Design and Evaluation:
- Design/Review and improve electrical systems, considering safety aspects.
- Evaluate the safety, reliability, and performance of existing systems.
- Inspect completed installations for adherence to safety standards.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, vendors and stakeholders.
- Collaborate on system design, modifications, and troubleshooting.
- Work with Vendors, suppliers, 3rd part contractors and the execution team for the new lab construction and modification.
- Personal Protective Equipment Selection & recommendation, maintenance procedure development and training lab engineers
Research and Innovation:
- Stay updated on industry trends and safety practices.
- Research and propose innovative solutions for safety enhancements if required by engineering teams.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare/Review technical documentation, reports, and specifications.
- Document safety procedures and guidelines. Communicate as needed.
- Responsible for visiting government office like CEIG for submitting documents and obtaining government approvals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering/equivalent with professional experience with 8+ years of experience on operation and maintenance of Electrical equipment’s at large facility.
- Should have valid electrical supervisor license
- Should have good knowledge of reading & creating electrical drawings, BoQ, specifications and handling electrical project execution.
- Sound knowledge of Electrical Standards (IE, NFPA)
- Knowledge of process and services interlocking. Good Project Management Skills are desirable
- Should have knowledge about the requirements of the necessary statutory approvals required for Electrical Installations/Dismantling
- Good knowledge of developing electrical power distribution & load calculation
- Good knowledge of selection of drive components including electrical cables and other equipment
- Understanding local language will be an added advantage.
