The Principal, Global Compliance Audit and Monitoring reports directly to the Associate Director, Global Compliance Audit & Monitoring. This role is responsible for supporting program and project planning, execution, implementation, and reporting across a variety of Global Compliance programs. The successful candidate will also oversee, maintain, and implement components of a comprehensive compliance auditing and monitoring program. This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with experience supporting global projects and managing risks related to regulations applicable to the medical device industry (e.g., the Anti-Kickback Statute, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, etc.).
Your responsibilities will include:
• Create and execute project plans for implementation of compliance program initiatives.
• Scope, plan, and execute projects that support the development or enhancement of Global Compliance program initiatives that may span multiple regions, business units, and functions.
• Obtain a thorough understanding of relevant business areas, regions, and/or functions and the associated compliance risks.
• Collaborate with the Associate Director and Compliance Management to define and document project goals, milestones, and deliverables.
• Recruit, coach, and manage staff through various aspects of the project lifecycle.
• Lead execution of project plans and oversee others in the delivery of assigned workstreams.
• Oversee, maintain, and implement components of a global compliance auditing and monitoring program, including activities related to the Code of Conduct and relevant regulatory risks.
• Present project and program updates, analysis, and recommendations to Management and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Apply critical thinking and analysis to manage project risks, resolve complex problems, and propose effective solutions.
• Identify and suggest process improvements aligned with corporate strategy and industry best practices.
• Support the development of operating policies and procedures impacting company-wide compliance processes.
• Contribute to the design of new tools, resources, and work processes that enhance program effectiveness.
• Prepare and deliver progress reports for Senior Management, summarizing status, impact, and recommended next steps.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior employees, identifying development opportunities and supporting career growth.
• Assist in developing and maintaining program effectiveness metrics and reporting.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay current on Boston Scientific’s compliance risks and controls.
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in compliance, risk, audit, or control functions.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple global initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence across the organization.
• Strong writing skills and high attention to detail.
• Experience leading and mentoring staff.
• Strong commitment to compliance, ethics, and accountability.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% globally.
Preferred qualifications:
• CPA, MBA, or CIA.
• Experience in the Life Sciences industry.
• Agile mindset and flexibility to meet changing needs and requirements for audit and monitoring.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to synthesize information and deliver meaningful insights.
• Flexible and adaptable mindset, able to manage evolving priorities and requirements.
• Exhibits passion for compliance and the business.
• Proficiency in Spanish.
Compensation fornon-exempt (hourly), non-sales rolesmay also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
