Understand the Data Ops Capabilities for the firm and build a deployment plan in partnership with Team Operations Lead
Design, develop, visualize and implement data architectures across front to back asset classes for the B&I Data team stakeholders.
Provide technical view and expertise on Data capabilities/Tooling.
Build best practices for data operations modelling, data controls, data integration, data pipelining, and data delivery.
Lead the definition and ongoing management of target data architecture.
Working in conjunction with information owners and technology partners to define and implement the target state architecture for B&I Data.
Establishing a governance process to oversee implementation activities and ensure ongoing alignment to the defined architecture.
Manage a team of sr. analysts and anallysts to build analytical capability and dashboards
Work closely with cross-functional teams e.g. Business Analysis, Product Assurance, Platforms and Infrastructure, Business Office, Control and Production Support. Prepare handover documents and manage SIT, UAT and Implementation.
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how the development function integrates within overall business/technology to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the banking industry.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of the program / project and associated dependencies
Oversee data governance and/or Data Risk and Controls and work closely with business/functions to ensure practices are embedded throughout the enterprise
Leads reengineering efforts in B&I Data Capability deployment methodology, strategy, and team goals
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
15+ years of relevant experience as a Technical Lead or similar role in Data Engineering including experience with data visualization tools and data integration platforms.
10+ years of Team management experience
Extensive experience with data modelling, SQL, implementing stored procedures and functions and other data manipulation languages
Strong understanding of data warehousing and data architecture principles.
Project Management experience and certification is desirable
Deep subject matter expertise around Data Governance and/or Data risk, control framework and policy development
Demonstrates consistent track record of having worked as a Program or Project Manager, or working on large, strategic cross-functional projects
Strong business analysis competency with historic success in shaping opportunities via conceptual thinking and abstract problem-solving capabilities
Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels
Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, appreciation of the enterprise data vision
Experience creating and executing against frameworks that improve the quality and value of data to meet regulatory commitments and enhance risk management. Experience leveraging glossary, lineage, and data quality tools to drive governance
Optimizes work processes by balancing effective / efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the big picture while paying close attention to detail
Organizational savvy: understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret them
Working knowledge of Data Operating Model practices, Data Governance and Data Compliance within large, financial services firms
