Job Description

: Performs diverse and complex assignments in support of GEHC product development and manufacturing. Assignments may include, but are not limited to:

  • Test, repair and rework of printed circuit board assemblies
  • Assist in new equipment introduction (fabrication, assembly and qualification)
  • Assist in Process Validation activities for new test processes (work instruction development and process validation execution)
  • Report/document results of tests and measures. Ensure compliance and quality of all activities

Responsibilities:

  • Works on projects, often requiring independent decision-making
  • Commits to a project with a duration between 2 and 6 months and understands the opportunity could last for up to one year
  • Takes on certain aspects of a full-time job within the function the intern is studying
  • Participates in early talent events, seminars or trainings

Qualifications:

  • Works on projects related to a particular function, depending on the candidate’s prior coursework and degree program
  • Demonstrates proficiency in:
    • Key electronics engineering technology areas including (a) standard electronics assembly techniques, (b) DC and AC electronics, (c) linear and digital circuit simulation, analysis and design, (d) microprocessors (e) communication systems (f) measurement techniques (g) electronics troubleshooting (h) competency for certification and licensure
    • Appropriate technical reporting, writing and communication skills
    • Mathematics, especially trigonometry, appropriate for electronics engineering technology
    • Design, analysis, application and troubleshooting of electrical circuits, electronic instrumentation, and related equipment/devices
    • Skills and protocols according to recognized standards and certifications
    • Computer operation and structure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 24 credit hours of coursework toward a bachelors/technical (or equivalent) degree in the function you are interning or a recent graduate from a Bachelors/technical program in the function you are interning
  • In countries where applicable, a GPA of at least 3.0
  • Previous experience using independent thought processes to plan ahead, process information, maintain workflow and anticipate future needs of the team
  • Must be willing to relocate to Salt Lake City, UT
