As a Senior Systems Development Engineer of the Backbone Enterprise, and Regional Engineering (BERE) team, you will provide expertise to expand solutions that support the backbone of the entire AWS global network. In this role, you will interact with senior applied scientists and engineers to understand requirements and extend platforms that support software-defined networks (SDN). You will grow to lead design reviews, aligning engineering efforts across an organization towards an overall technical strategy. Key job responsibilities
You will be a hands-on technical lead, who is responsible for all phases of the project development cycle. You will work with customers to gather requirements, generate technical designs, and carry the project from implementation through validation and operations. In the role you'll need to lean on your strong leadership and communication skills to mentor other engineers and provide training and support for our technologies. Your experience working in systems development or in an enterprise environment will help us implement automated solutions across a variety of applications and systems.You’ll also:- Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 4+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby experience
- 4+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 4+ years of experience with monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving system and software components.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and performant (reliable and scalable) software solutions in production
- Experience in communicating with executives to describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure
- 3+ years of experience working independently as a senior contributor or a lead member in large project teams at other organizations.
