Roles and Responsibilities

- Active participation in daily meetings on status and periodic planning meetings
- Physically moving and re-arranging lab equipment, including low voltage wiring, computer systems, simulators, and other test equipment
- Tool and software license management
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot large Local Area Networks and network monitoring tools
- Configure networks for fast, secure, reliable operation
- Support engineering teams within the entire software development lifecycle including design, software implementation, verification, and maintenance activities
- Plan, implement, configure, scale and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi installations
- Install, configure and update 3rd party and GE HealthCare equipment in engineering, verification and other test environments
- Plan for, purchase and maintain an inventory of equipment necessary to support engineering labs

Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Self-starter, energizing, results-oriented, and able to multi-task; tenacious and organized
- You enjoy technology, working with various OSes, networking, tinkering, improving things, and learning new stuff
- Ability to troubleshoot network issues that could be due to hardware, software or network faults
- Good analytic and problem-solving skills
- General understanding of networking technologies and topologies (e.g. Layer 2-4, TCP/IP, IPv4, IPSec, HSRP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, NTP, VLANs, NAT, WAN, Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS) and remote access connectivity requirements; some familiarity with 10g, 25g, 40g, and 100g networking expected
- Experience installing/configuring/using infrastructure monitoring tools such as: ElastiFlow, Nagios Core, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.
- Ability to lift objects up to 80 pounds
- Desire to work with Unix/Linux variants (i.e.CentOS, Ubuntu, SuSE, Apple OSX)
- You must be willing to work in our Milwaukee, WI facility full-time

Desired Characteristics
- Familiarity with VMware ESXi 7 or above, administration, clustering, vCenter and virtual networking
- VMWare Certified Professional
- Experience with visualization tools such as: Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, etc.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Linux+ certifications
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving capabilities
- Proven ability to work effectively within and across various teams
- Experience with scripting languages such as: Groovy, shell scripting (Bash, Powershell), Python or Ruby
- Familiarity with the Agile SW Development process
- Ability to work with Storage Area Network (SAN), NAS, iSCSI, TrueNAS, QSAN, Nfina
Daily tasks might include
- Server hardware maintenance and ESXi or SAN installation/configuration
- Network port VLAN updates
- Racking and cabling servers and related equipment
- Relocating and reconfiguring lab equipment and associated network configuration
- Revising/creating BASH/Powershell/Groovy scripts for VM maintenance
- Suggesting improvement opportunities to process, design, tools, et al.
- Linux, Mac, Windows network performance troubleshooting and investigation
