To undertake a structured training programme both at the St Austell site and at a local training facility in the form of an apprenticeship to enable the successful candidate to:
Learn the skills and knowledge required to safely maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, that is used to produce elastomer products for pharmaceutical packaging systems.
Support Production, Engineering, and other departments in meeting all quality, delivery and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Be aware and follow all relevant Procedures and Instructions as per company policy that applies to the position covered by this job description.
Carry out both electrical & mechanical fault diagnosis, investigation and problem solving in the event of breakdowns for all site machinery.
Maintaining equipment and services by carrying out planned maintenance and improvements.
Undertake projects as directed by the Engineering Management.
Manage, track and record all work on the maintenance management system (MMS).
Undertake training and carry-out continuous improvement using lean sigma tools.
Desirable: Currently undergoing Engineering based training.
Work Experience
No minimum experience required
Experience operating drill press, band saws, hand tools and grinding/abrasive tools with a mechanical / electrical background is an advantage
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to read mechanical diagrams and schematics.
Physical Requirements
Heavy-Exerting up to 100lbs/45kg of force occasionally and/or up to 50lb/22kg of force frequently, and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force constantly to move objects.
