This key role will be focused on increasing Kuiper Satellite production rate through continuous improvement strategies. In this role, you will be a senior member of the team that will drive improvements in a variety of areas such as manufacturing, testing and/or fulfillment processes. The Sr Process Engineer for ProdOps Continuous Improvement role is key to Kuiper's ability to increase satellite production rate. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills to enhance operational efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Their responsibility includes:- Autonomously own deep dives to root cause a specific process or area (product engineering).
- Assess the effectiveness of all operational activities on site using specific analytical tools (eg. Kaizen, Six Sigma, DMAIC, VSM etc.) to generate proposals for waste-reduction and corrective actions.
- Enhance operational efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement- Identify and own improvements through process recommendations, equipment requests, manufacturing executions system (MES) improvement, design for manufacturing, etc.

This role will be highly collaborative, requiring partnerships with cross-functional leaders to drive positive results. This role requires ability to advocate on behalf of our customers (internal and external) and an ability to push back without being adversarial.

- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Bachelors (BS) in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, other STEM discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years experience in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing or Tooling Engineering.
- 3+ years leading continuous improvement initiatives, managing operations, or a related role within the manufacturing, fulfillment or testing organization driving automation, LEAN/Six Sigma, 5S initiatives.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills including working knowledge of data analysis and statistics.

- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Experience working in the aerospace or aviation industry
- Experience in setting up or launching new industrial processes (start-up)
- Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing execution system (MES) software.
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- Experience in High Volume Production
- High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
