Job Overview:
We are in search of a seasoned IT M&A Technical Consultant who specializes in the technological facets of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Divestitures. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in IT systems, applications, and infrastructure, with a strong track record in the execution of M&A activities, including due diligence, IT integration, and system separation. This role requires a consultant who can navigate the complexities of M&A transactions, ensuring that IT strategies are meticulously planned and executed to support the success of the deal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the technical execution of IT-related M&A and Divestiture projects, aligning IT strategies with business goals and transaction objectives.
- Perform in-depth IT due diligence, assessing the technical landscape to identify risks, compatibility, and integration opportunities.
- Craft detailed IT integration or separation roadmaps, focusing on technical infrastructure, application portfolio management, data migration strategies, and system consolidation or segmentation.
- Lead technical teams to deliver robust IT solutions within the constraints of time and budget.
- Offer authoritative advice on technical governance, compliance, and best practices throughout the M&A transaction lifecycle.
- Ensure that IT technical plans are congruent with the deal structure, aiming for optimal value realization.
- Bridge the gap between IT and business units, fostering a unified approach to the transaction with a clear technical perspective.
- Manage the handover of IT services, including support systems and contractual agreements, during ownership transitions.
- Report on technical project progress, highlighting potential risks and formulating contingency plans to senior management and clients.
- Keep abreast of cutting-edge technologies and industry developments to advise clients on innovative technical solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field. A Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent is preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in IT consulting with a strong emphasis on the technical aspects of M&A and Divestiture projects.
- Proven track record in the technical management of IT systems throughout the M&A or Divestiture lifecycle.
- Solid project management skills with technical certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL) considered a plus.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with a decisive technical judgment.
- Outstanding communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Agility in a fast-paced and evolving environment, with the ability to pivot according to shifting priorities.
- Expertise in IT infrastructure, enterprise application integration, data architecture, and cybersecurity within the context of M&A.
- Availability for travel to fulfill the demands of various projects.
