The CI Manager occupies a critical role, positively impacting our largest, most strategic client proposals. Joining a newly formed andgrowing CI team, you will be a proactive change agent to create and embed demand-driven, actionable intelligence into thepursuitprocess. This role will combine creative strategic thinking with operational excellence to build a culture of fact-based, objectivedecision making.
Working individually and within teams, your role will be primarily responsible for gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitativeinformation, transforming it into actionable intelligence for client proposals and building relationships to drive implementation. You willprepare strategic assessments of key competitors and market segments, develop new CI tools, respond to ad-hoc requests andcommunicate with different management levels. In this role, you will collaborate closely with commercial architects and pursuitleaders.


As the CI Manager, you will be responsible for a wide range of projects, with a focus on:

  • Process — Implementing a “gold-standard” framework for pursuit-specific competitive intelligence support.
  • Research – Conducting research using a variety of internal and external sources, including stakeholder interviews, andapplying frameworks to the information you gather to develop actionable competitor and market intelligence.
  • Products – Building a portfolio of highly consumable competitive intelligence deliverables (e.g., competitor profiles,battlecards, presentations, newsletters) that can be used strategically across proposals.
  • Clients & End users – Building relationships with and identifying the needs of stakeholders to develop deliverables thatchange their decisions and continuously seeking and learning from their feedback.
  • Technology – Managing CI technology to improve analysis and communication of intelligence to stakeholders.
  • Culture – Promoting the use of objective, fact-based evidence in every stakeholder interaction.
  • Leadership - Manage multiple stakeholder communities with varying levels, experiences, agenda’s and be responsiblefor overseeing the relationship
  • People - Develop people through effectively coaching, supervision and mentoring. Conduct performance reviews andcontribute to performance feedback for team members
  • Occasional travel may be required.


You will earn a reputation as a trusted advisor for commercial architects and pursuit teams by supporting their decision-making andhelping shape their thinking. You will draw on strong analytical collaboration, creativity, curiosity and influencing skills to meaningfullycontribute to and lead projects. Demonstrating flexibility, a growth mindset and initiative, you will build relationships that unlock newopportunities to expand your impact.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • 8-12+ years of experience years’ experience in competitive intelligence or related research roles
  • A track record of analyzing information to draw insightful, actionable conclusions
  • Experience engaging networks and conducting interviews to collect primary information
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting quantitative data
  • Experience developing frameworks and presentations to communicate concepts
  • Ability to challenge established thinking
  • Ability to take ownership for delivering customized projects with autonomy and working independently in a virtualenvironment
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • An MBA is preferred

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Great story-telling skills that engage stakeholders and motivate them to act
  • First-hand experience using Market and Competitive Intelligence platforms (e.g., AlphaSense, Klue, Crayon Contify,etc.)
  • An advanced degree
