Cloud Platform Development: Contribute to the design, development and operation of PayPal Inc.'s enterprise data lake at scale, with a focus on cloud and hybrid deployments.
Data Lake Platform Vision: Collaborate on defining the roadmap and vision for PayPal’s Enterprise Data Lake Platform, ensuring alignment with the broader "One PayPal" vision.
Platform Scalability and Reliability: Support the development of reliable, scalable platforms while helping to manage budgets and resources for efficient platform delivery.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with various business units within PayPal, fostering long-lasting and effective relationships to drive platform success.
Project Delivery: Collaborate with peers in Engineering, Product, and Program Management to meet deliverables for high-visibility projects, ensuring timely and quality execution.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in software development.
Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performing software applications across the full stack.
Expertise in full-stack development, including front-end, back-end, and API integration. Experience with building and consuming RESTful APIs.
Strong programming skills in multiple back-end languages, such as Java, or Python.
Experience with JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, or Node.js.
5+ years of experience working with database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and web servers like Apache.
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and front-end development best practices.
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.
Strong understanding of designing highly available, scalable, and performant software systems in a highly regulated industry, preferably Financial Services.
Passion for software quality, secure coding practices, and following Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) best practices.
Ability to quickly adapt to new development environments, evolving business requirements, and learning new technologies as needed.
