What You’ll Do
  • Lead Supplier Industrialization activities from R&D phase to mass production including product development, qualification, quality control and initiate New Product Introduction.
  • Scout Innovation for Quality and Cost optimization from the supply base and support Design for Manufacturing feedback into Engineering teams.
  • Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between Suppliers and Tesla Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams.
  • Accountable for supplier audits to ensure their ability to meet material performance, delivery, and reliability expectations.
  • Accountable for leading, tracking and improving supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes.
  • Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable, and implemented for similar potential concerns across manufacturing lines and/or suppliers.
  • Project manage the supply chain scope at a global level driving steps forward and continuous improvement on the technical and cost reduction level.
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree Materials/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or evidence of experience and exceptional ability
  • Knowledge of automotive most used chemicals and/or resins and their use in the automotive industry: painting cycle and/or injection molding, sheet molding compound
  • Experience in Supplier Industrialization, Customer Quality, and Product or Application Development at Raw Material producer or qualified automotive supplier
  • Knowledge of PPAP/APQP processes and automotive technical knowledge Experience of statistical analysis, design quality assessment and improvement technique
  • Hands-on and ready to work on a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Domestic and international travel (expected 30 - 40% of the time), sometimes on short notice
