Scout Innovation for Quality and Cost optimization from the supply base and support Design for Manufacturing feedback into Engineering teams.
Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between Suppliers and Tesla Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams.
Accountable for supplier audits to ensure their ability to meet material performance, delivery, and reliability expectations.
Accountable for leading, tracking and improving supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes.
Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable, and implemented for similar potential concerns across manufacturing lines and/or suppliers.
Project manage the supply chain scope at a global level driving steps forward and continuous improvement on the technical and cost reduction level.
What You’ll Bring
Degree Materials/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or evidence of experience and exceptional ability
Knowledge of automotive most used chemicals and/or resins and their use in the automotive industry: painting cycle and/or injection molding, sheet molding compound
Experience in Supplier Industrialization, Customer Quality, and Product or Application Development at Raw Material producer or qualified automotive supplier
Knowledge of PPAP/APQP processes and automotive technical knowledge Experience of statistical analysis, design quality assessment and improvement technique
Hands-on and ready to work on a fast-paced environment
Excellent spoken and written English
Domestic and international travel (expected 30 - 40% of the time), sometimes on short notice
