In this position, you will be responsible for applying your extensive technical expertise, engineering knowledge, online services experience, and exceptional collaboration skills to effectively respond to threats and protect our cloud services from those who try to abuse them.Key job responsibilities
You will work closely with other experts across AWS to investigate abuse of our services, automate our capabilities, develop tooling and data automation, and contribute your many experiences to protecting AWS and our customers. You will work to understand how AWS services are misused and abused, and disrupt these activities. We look for someone who has an interest in automating their way out of having to do the same thing twice, and is always thinking about how to scale what we do to millions of hosts and customers.Working as a part of AWS Trust & Safety, you will work to solve issues related to the latest security trends and early warning indicators, as well as help design solutions for emerging threats. Trust & Safety is a team that constantly provides new opportunities to learn and grow.- Design, develop, debug, and deliver tooling to assist the investigative and abuse response process.- Participate in on call rotations.
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Learn about and integrate with partner teams’ systems and processes to combat abuse.
- Collect, curate, and transform data to support advanced analytic creation and investigation automation.
- Contribute to T&S policies and standards.A day in the life
In addition to your team, you consult with other teams within Trust & Safety such as Operations, Security, and Policy to define requirements for new tools and automation. You find creative ways to tie together multiple systems used by Trust & Safety and make them work together to cut down on manual effort.

- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Knowledge of database systems and SQL
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience building services using AWS products
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
