Your responsibilities will include:
- Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on complex projects.
- Executes the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
- Serves as a key resource or expert, participating in setting technical direction for the function and/or organization.
- Reviews and assesses processes for potential patent opportunities.
- Ensures visibility and closure of process issues (e.g., yields, cost, capability, etc.) per PDP milestones.
- Serves as a key contributor and participant in technical reviews.
- Evaluates external technologies and strategically identifies opportunities to implement them internally.
- Provides on-going mentoring and technical guidance to managers, other engineers, technicians, and functional groups.
- Will mentor other technicians and engineers.
- Typically serves as a core team member or technical expert (subject matter expert) on platform and complex projects.
- May serve as a representative or liaison to other BSC sites or external organizations, boards or committees.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering or related engineering degree
- 7+ years of demonstrated process development / improvement activities
- Demonstrated use of Design for Six Sigma tools (DOE, problem solving, process improvement)
- Demonstrated ability to develop processes from concept to production
- Strong mechanical aptitude. Fixture and equipment design or trouble shooting experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Design for Automation or Design for Manufacturing experience
- Thermoplastic molding or extrusion experience
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- Medical device or other regulated industry experience.
- Process Development; equipment validations and process characterization and validation experience
- Open to travel of up to 10% of their time.
