Your Role and Responsibilities
The Instructional Designer (ID) is also called Learning Experience Designer (LED) and works to consult with clients in order to design, develop, and evaluate instructionally sound learning and performance interventions.
Responsibilities:
  • Consult with clients to determine how/if a learning experience can help close a performance, skill, or knowledge gap.
  • Create instructionally sound learning experiences using adult learning principles designed to close performance gaps.
  • Lead and mentor teams of other IDs and Associate IDs, as needed.
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing client proposals.
  • Assist in documenting, reviewing, and validating client requirements.
  • Write and evaluate learning or performance objectives based on needs analysis, requirement gathering, and project scope.
  • Leverage adult learning theory and client scope to select and implement instructional strategies.
  • Create instructional design documents.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Gather content from client source materials and SME interviews.
  • Organize learning content into meaningful chunks.
  • Recommend delivery system alternatives based on learning strategy, content, and client constraints (if necessary).
  • Develop content and/or oversee content development while collaborating with other learning team members.
  • Assist in and/or conduct pilots of new learning experiences.
  • Design evaluation instruments (such as assessment questions or surveys) to measure learning effectiveness and improve new or existing learning experiences.
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Manager, reporting progress and staying within the project hour allocations while adhering to budget limits.
  • Proofread, edit, and update all learning deliverables regularly.
  • A senior/lead LED/ID may also:
    • Act as a team QA, reviewing all team deliverables.
    • Provide backup to PM, as needed.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Graduate / Post-Graduate
  • 10 – 12 years of overall experience with minimum of 5 – 7 years in End-to-End Content Development / Instructional Design in any International IT / ITES Company
  • Knowledge of learning theory/educational psychology and application to adult learning.
  • Knowledge of learning experience design methods including the ADDIE model.
  • Experience applying learning theory to the creation of learning experiences.
  • Experience delivering learning experiences and performance interventions.
  • Experience writing performance objectives.
  • Experience writing assessment/test questions.
  • Experience performing audience analysis.
  • Experience performing job task analysis.
  • Experience performing content analysis.
  • Experience performing delivery system analysis.
  • Experience working in high-performing learning and training teams and on complex projects.
  • Experience using courseware development tools (such as Captivate, Camtasia, and Articulate Rise, murf, PageTiger, WalkMe)
  • Good to know – Liquid Planner, SNOW, Cornerstone Ondemand
  • Ability to learn new courseware development tools and techniques quickly.
  • Experience using graphics tools for simple functions such as:
  • Image resizing, cropping, color adjustment, and text replacement
  • Combining or re-editing images to create new images.
  • Fluency in English language, including expertise in writing clearly for diverse, global audiences.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Should have a valid passport
  • Should be open to working in night shifts


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Should have excellent communication skills (oral & written) in English
  • Should have strong hands-on knowledge in End-to-End Content Development + Experience design methods including the ADDIE model at a Global Level & Graphic Model Tools
