Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Capacity Analysis
  • Builds and Maintains model to analyse and plan capacity of the Biotech Site, performing scenario modelling and planning as required.
  • Owner of the Site Long-range Operational Plan (2-10 years) Process
  • Long term capacity analysis for the site is kept current and incorporates required global demand for products.
  • Identify bottlenecks, risks, constraints, and areas of improvement in the site's capacity plan.
  • Work with the Site finite Schedulers and digital manufacturing organization to build and maintain a robust Digital Model on RTMS (real time modelling system) for existing and new products.
  • Collect and analyse data on historical demand, current utilization, production volume, and resource availability.
  • Use statistical models and data analysis techniques to forecast future demand and estimate resource requirements.

Resource Planning

  • Develop capacity plans, schedules, and strategies to meet projected demand, considering factors such as production capacity, workforce, technology, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, manufacturing science and technology, supply chain, and finance to align capacity plans with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ensure Plan of Record for the site is appropriately risk adjusted and incorporates key stakeholder feedback. Mid to long term Demand/ Supply plan and 24 months production plan aligned with BDS, Technical Operations, Maintenance, Quality, including availability of materials, scenario planning and contributing to financial forecasting and budget process.
  • Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of potential changes in demand, supply chain dynamics, or operational processes on site capacity.

Demand Management:

  • Work closely with Global supply chain and product teams to understand product demand, changes in product mix and market approvals; and incorporate in the site Plan of Record
  • Responsible contributing to Product siting Assessments.
  • Support Site Tech transfers and alignment with VCMT (value chain management team) initiatives.
  • Support New Product Introduction siting evaluations with Supply and Capacity assessments.
  • Coordinate with site production planners to align production schedules to meet Patient Demand
  • Identify opportunities for value creation e.g., optimizing site capacity utilization and minimizing discard risk.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate capacity utilization, trends, and forecasts to management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with site managers and senior leadership to develop strategies and action plans based on capacity analysis insights.
  • Ensure site Supply Review meeting is executed efficiently, ensuring alignment on optimising the Master Schedule, increasing Facility Utilisation, OEE and OA
  • Communicate site capacity planning initiatives and recommendations across the organization to ensure alignment and support.
  • Develop and report supply chain metrics for local and global reporting and creating visual information, e.g., Plan Attainment, Lead Time.
  • Responsible for site alignment with the Manufactory Division Capacity Planning models.
  • Owner for recipe master data in SAP (in conjunction with Operations and Finance functions). Machine hours, labour hours, yield – clear basis for assumptions and justification for changes
  • Support linkage of production cross-functional strategic goals to current market/customer environment and corporate strategy.
  • Work with MPS (operational excellence) to implement controls and metrics to maximize operational availability, OEE and Site Output.

:

  • Understanding of project implementation strategy, including experience on regulatory, validation and process technology transfer.
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
  • Familiarity with SAP system and operability.

Education/Experience:

  • Degree qualification (Business, Science, Engineering or similar) or related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain or operations management, in the pharmaceutical industry or a similar operating industry, which includes leadership roles.
  • Experience in capacity planning, demand forecasting, or production planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis and data modelling techniques.
  • Proficiency in utilising capacity planning software, data analysis tools, and ERP systems.
  • Communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
