Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of core banking systems implementation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and requirements.
  • Accountable for project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track project progress against milestones and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalate as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication between business units, IT teams, and third-party vendors to drive project success.
  • Provide regular project status updates, reports, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to core banking systems and project management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project delivery processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Manage complex and difficult escalations, risks and issues related to services delivered by the Global Agile teams.
  • Analyze and solve unique and complex problems, requiring broad-based solutions
  • Work with HR on strategic level to recruit top talent.
  • Lead talent development and retention initiatives, including provisioning of training, sharing of best practices, and initiatives to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Being a coach/mentor for team he/she is responsible for.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2, ITIL) preferred.
  • 15+ years’ experience building and managing global teams.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Proven experience as a practice director in a consulting organization or/ and manager in a large enterprise.
  • Technical expert with a focus on core banking systems implementation projects within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of core banking concepts, products, processes, and technologies, including but not limited to deposit accounts, loans, payments, and transaction processing.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale, complex projects from initiation to closure, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented and results-driven approach to project delivery.
  • Experience working with core banking software vendors and familiarity with industry-leading core banking solutions (e.g., FIS, Fiserv, Temenos, Oracle, SAP).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Technical experience of understanding and working on banks solution and technology architecture, interfaces specification and data model mapping, process workflow tools, API tools such as Apigee is preferred.
  • Knowledge of databases, infrastructure, application servers, Technical Architecture, Security and Performance management
  • Knowledge of writing integration specifications and knowledge of Soap or Rest APIs, understanding of the banking solution and technology architecture including data models and structure. Data mapping – process flow development, review client processes and workflows and make recommendations to the client.
  • Understanding of evolving banking technology landscape (Microservices, Cloud, Devops, RPA (Automation) etc. Other skills include Effort Estimation, Pre-sales support, engagement Assessments, Project planning, Conduct Training for clients/Internal staff.
