PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to augment our efforts to further improve and streamline the processes and operations underpinning all the cloud solutions operated by our organization. Your primary goal will be to develop bug fixes and new features using Agile methodology. You will have the opportunity to directly influence, shape or build innovative automation scenarios to achieve operational excellence. You should have a hands-on mentality and a natural curiosity to learn new technologies.

You are expected to:

• Be primarily responsible for development tasks assigned to you within a Scrum team.
• Adhere to our established development standards and guidelines.
• Resolve complex issues within own area of expertise and support others in resolving issues.
• Show initiative and drive topics to resolution with a high degree of quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency.
• Perform knowledge transfer to other locations where required.
• Willingness to take over weekend work and on-call duty if called upon.
• Continuously surface process improvement opportunities and contribute to eventual realization (e.g. process or tool simplification).

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

You are goal-oriented and a self-starter. You have a curiosity for exploring new technologies and new ways of getting things done.

Required:

• Diploma/degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4-7 years of relevant experiences of which more than 2 years of experience in Node.js or Typescript, GitHub, Jira and Scrum methodology.
• Good knowledge of Jenkins, containerization and/or Kubernetes, Linux and Windows.
• Knowledge in NestJS, Postgresql, python and ruby would be advantageous.
• Possess a cloud mindset with focus on no-ops.
• Working experience in large-scale data centre environment and/or at least one hyperscaler (GCP, AWS, Azure, Alibaba).
• Working knowledge of data networking concepts and technologies.
• Experience in interacting with customers and other teams in daily business as well as during escalations.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
• Reliable, pro-active, open-minded and diligent.
• Ability to take ad-hoc calls/meetings after office hours in the global team set-up.
• Ability to work under time pressure.
