Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
Proven track record of managing teams working upstream and downstream
Strong understanding of embedded software, SAAS and Linux
Knowledge of key SoM vendors, ODMs, and distribution channels for SoC vendors
Excellent technical, communication and engineering management skills
Experience in managing relationships with key partners and stakeholders
Ability to work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Based in US (West Coast preferred), EU or UK
Willingness to travel globally as needed (likely several times per year)
Prefer experience working closely with or for a Linux Distribution
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Architect, support and manage OSS/upstream initiatives within the Qualcomm Central Software Engineering (CSE) team of which Foundries is part.
Work on, and manage developers working on, OSS including U-Boot, TFA, OP-TEE, the Linux kernel as well as user space stacks and container technologies.
Stay current on industry trends and best practices in relevant OSS projects
Contribute to code reviews, regression tests, and the triage of issues to ensure the quality of code.
Collaborate with high-level representatives from other functions (e.g., testing group, product group, customers) to plan functionality of end-to-end systems.
Represent the company at industry events and conferences
Mentor and build expertise in the Foundries/Qualcomm OSS teams
Level of Responsibility:
• Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents.
• Outstanding individual contributor with team member/lead experience, looking for additional challenges and ability to provide both technical and management leadership over time.

Pay range:
$180,000.00 - $270,000.00
