Your key responsibilities
As a Manager in the Finance Services Organization practice, you will be a member of our team responsible for carrying out various engagements from our service offering described above. Additional responsibilities include the following:
- Lead external client consulting engagements involving the advancement of the CFO agenda for the Financial Services Office.
- Lead business development initiatives including service offering development and roll-out, proposal development, responding to RFXs and participating in oral presentations
- Design and implement finance transformation initiatives, focusing on the integration of technology to modernize the finance function within financial services organizations
- Assess current financial processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization
- Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation of transformation projects
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on banking operations, regulatory requirements, financial processes, and industry best practices.
- Stay abreast of current business, industry and regulatory trends relevant to the client's business and overall local industry.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the year. Establish expectations of value to be delivered.
- Maintain cooperative relationships and foster mutual support with other EY service line teams
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or data management/analysis
- At least 5 to 7 years of professional experience in the banking and capital markets industry with a focus on reporting, transformation, process improvement
- Experience in financial accounting or audit, financial analysis, process optimization/documentation
- Strong understanding of banking operations, financial products, and regulatory requirements, including:
- Regulatory rules applicable to financial institutions in Canada
- Working knowledge of capital infrastructure (data, systems, models, management and reporting) and management of key metrics.
- Planning, budgeting, forecasting and stress testing processes
- Performance measurement and management concepts
- Process transformation and improvement methodologies
- Business performance reporting process
- Key accounting standards relevant to financial institutions, including IFRS 9, IAS 39 and IAS 32
- Financial accounting and financial statement close process
- Project and change management methodologies
- Experience using MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
- Experience in leading and delivering Finance transformation program/projects that cover the full life cycle of assessment, design and implementation support

Ideally, you’ll also have:

- Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines
- An accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
- Certification in ERP system or EPM tool configuration
- Basic proficiency in ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central or D365 Finance & Operations, SAP S4/HANA, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.
- Basic proficiency in EPM tools such as OneStream, Tagetik, Anaplan, Adaptive, Blackline, etc.
