Participate as a key team member in the development of unique mechanical concepts for optics, optical mount, flexures and structures with critical constraints that meet the demanding requirements of space applications.
Lead the development, build and test of hardware that is driven towards lower cost and higher volumes.
Develop strategies and methods to be able to efficiently and quickly build and test systems and components that require critically precise alignment.
Define the assembly, integration, and test of complex optical systems and leading the execution of those activities.
Use optical test equipment to measure optical performance, and optical alignment
Support environmental testing of equipment

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science
Minimum 8 years of relevant design and test experience, with a specialty in opto-mechanical hardware development in a new product development environment

Advanced degree in engineering or applied science
A strong background in optical instrument design activities, including optical, mechanical and electrical engineering aspects
An understanding of optical design and test methods and familiarity with optical design software
A strong grasp of optical, mechanical, electrical and software elements and their interactions within complex systems
Demonstrated experience working with technical teams with engineers, scientists, and technicians from multiple disciplines
Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
The ability to adapt as dictated by project changes
The ability to simultaneously manage a variety of complicated tasks
