Job responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Execute standard security solutions in accordance with existing playbooks to satisfy security requirements for internal clients (e.g., product, platform, and application owners)
- Write secure and high-quality code with limited guidance
- Apply specialized tools (e.g. vulnerability scanner) to analyze and correlate incident data to identify, interpret, and summarize probability and impact of threats when determining specific vulnerabilities
- Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Information Systems concepts and proficient applied experience in security engineering
- Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages(Java or Python)
- Experience operating, implementing and improving distributed and highly concurrent service-based architectures, including microservices, containerized services, and/or serverless architectures
- Hands-on experience with container management and orchestration (using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes)
- Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
- Experience in building out observability to continuously monitor understand the health of systems, using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Cloudwatch, Splunk
