What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
- Develop and oversee process/quality qualification requirements for battery cell inactive materials, including Cu / Al foil, separator, slurry, tape
- Lead and mentor
- Monitor production output at existing facilities and support expansion programs with existing suppliers
- Bring up and qualify new suppliers from small scale to Mass Production through PPAP
- Setup and qualify IQC / IPQC / OQC and
- Project manage activities at supplier locations and ensure all required milestones are meeting Tesla product qualification on time
- Act as a bridge between Tesla Materials Engineering team / factory production team and supplier
- Degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering discipline, with 5+ years of experience in battery materials industry; 2+ years of leading/managing engineers
- Traceable experience in building a team with the culture of proactively preventing/fixing issues
- Experience of Mass Production, PPAP, supplier line qualification procedures
- Experience in developing OQC/IQC quality controls, metrology qualification for cell materials
- Working knowledge of battery cell or materials manufacturing and relationship between cell performance and material properties
- Good presentation skills and communication with senior manager/director and cross functional team managers
- Ability to travel – 25% (domestically and internationally)
