What you need to know about the role

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating the risk and control framework including process, risk and control documentation and creating risk-based controls monitoring and testing plans. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring timely root cause analysis, management and resolution of issues that occur; timely completion of required Product Change Review takes for new product and feature launches and enhancements; oversight of third-party risk management; and ensuring timely response to internal and external audit and exam requests.

To do this, you will:

  • Use your risk management expertise to work closely with business leaders and product managers to identify and mitigate risks
  • Create and execute plans to build an effective risk management foundation and framework
  • Build strong relationships and proactively collaborate with a cross functional team that will include product managers, project managers, engineers, analytics, second line of defense partners, compliance, audit, and legal.
  • Support growth initiatives by developing recommendations for achieving the right risk/reward tradeoff within project timelines
  • Develop and launch control monitoring and testing plans leveraging automation where possible
  • Efficiently manage issues that arise to ensure prompt customer remediation and on-time resolution
  • Provide leadership level risk program status updates, roadmaps, and transparency to known or potential risks.

Your day-to-day:

  • Enable the business by ensuring risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
  • Anticipate business needs and proactively identify opportunities to improve and strengthen the control environment.
  • Leverage enterprise Risk Management tools (ServiceNow, Sphere, etc.) to create documentation that enables strong risk management.
  • Create key risk indicators from which to derive insights for the Ads business.

Risk Program Development & Management:

  • Issues and Incident Resolution: Collaborate with partners to determine root cause and impacts, drive issue resolution and remediation, and develop controls. Communicate and collaborate with other BRCLs and business owners to assign and agree ownership of issues originating from outside of Consumer organization, ensuring adequate resources are in place to manage Consumer impacts.
  • Risk Assessment: Perform and refresh risk assessment including risk identification, documentation, and control evaluation. Translate control deficiencies into mitigation plans and provide recommendations for enhancement. Identify critical areas to monitor and escalate issues and findings to appropriate stakeholders coming out of the process.
  • New Product Reviews: Plan and execute new product reviews to identify risks and controls, while enabling the business to move quickly.
  • Risk & Control Framework Development: Define, manage, and execute on
  • Business Continuity Management: Develop and ensure testing of Business Continuity Plans and Business Impact Assessments
  • Audit & Exam Management: Respond to Internal and External Audit and Testing Engagements (e.g., Second Line of Defense reviews, and Regulatory Examinations)
  • Monitoring & Testing: Create monitoring and testing plans for controls to ensure they are operating as expected.
  • Management Reporting & Awareness: Track progress and provide timely updates and escalate blockers and timeline concerns to management. Provide assertions on risk exposure and articulate and present escalated risks to management. Assist in advising senior management on the status of their risk environment related to risk identification and control weaknesses.

  • TechnicalCapabilities: Highlyproficient in MicrosoftOffice, comfortablelearning new systems and processes.
  • Education: Bachelor’sdegree; intellectually curious with an ability to learn new systems, products, and processes quickly. Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, etc. are a plus.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in the areas of Audit, Internal Control, Operational Risk, Compliance, or similar with direct experience managing risks, controls, and/or compliance requirements.
  • Experience with information security, data privacy and data privacy related operations.
  • Experience working in a rapid growth environment in financial services, payments or technology companies is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally and adapt to change.
  • Proven to prioritize workload and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates independence, initiative, and follow-through .
