As a member of the Product & Corporate Legal, Marketing Legal and Consumer Products Legal teams, you will:
  • Collaborate with stunning colleagues across business development, product, marketing, consumer products and other stakeholders to help Netflix achieve its key business objectives.
  • Become the go-to point-of-contact for processing consumer claims and inquiries by local law enforcement to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Build knowledge and expertise on Netflix’s products and services to help the business navigate and assess legal risks arising from new and existing user experiences.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate procurement agreements to support Netflix’s business operations.
  • Create and maintain informational resources for the marketing teams and support the marketing team’s contract needs, including reviewing agreements and coordinating with the content licensing team.
  • Act as the legal liaison and partnering with the customer service teams to investigate, draft and respond to consumer claims and other legally sensitive consumer complaints.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to prepare and submit regulatory filings.
Required Qualifications:
  • One to three years of legal experience as either a practicing attorney or a member of the legal team in a multinational company
  • Fluency in Japanese and English
  • A strong business-first mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Be comfortable evaluating risk with imperfect information and willingness to ask questions, especially those that may be awkward and/or uncomfortable
  • High intellectual curiosity and strong willingness to tackle new subject matters outside one’s comfort zone and take on special projects as the need arises, even outside the original role
Preferred Qualifications:
  • E-commerce and/or IT-industry experience
  • Bar qualification in one or more jurisdictions
